This week, we checked in on Community Month’s first day, talked through the new streaks system, and covered changes based on your feedback. We also looked back at Spooky Season, explained the Level 10 streamer reward, and shared what’s coming this Friday: your chance to pitch a future Fav event.
Community Month is underway
This month is about the people who make Fav what it is, from longtime regulars to everyone just joining in.
Your feedback is already helping shape Community Month. Here are a few updates and clarifications from this week’s stream:
- A wave works, too. Tag an egg with either 👋 or 🔥 to complete the welcome quest. You can include a message, so say hello and make it your own.
- Any heart color counts. The heart quest now accepts hearts of any color.
- Eggs have their own quests. New users have activities to help them get involved, including visiting streams, sending hearts, and joining a guest box. Those quests only appear for eggs.
- Community Month gifts rotate. Check the Community Month tab in your gift tray for the current selection.
- Strength in the Community has specific eligibility. The gift is available to people who earned it in 2024. Seeing its quest doesn’t mean you’ve unlocked the gift.
We’re also working on lower-cost streak gifts, including a 365-coin option for full-grown Phoenixes. Timing and the other gift values are still to come. An egg leaderboard was another popular request, and the team will discuss how to make that participation more visible.
One reminder: alternate accounts can’t be used to game event points or rewards. The goal is to help new people find their place in the community.
Your Phoenix is here to stay
At a seven-day streak, your egg hatches and you unlock the hatchling gift. Keep your streak going throughout the week to receive a weekly coin bonus in your vault equal to your streak count.
More is coming for the full-grown phoenix and blue phoenix, too. We’re adding the ability to receive those gifts as well as send them, with the gift identified as your phoenix.
Over time, phoenixes will gain more abilities and ways to make them your own. Unlockable gifts are one part of that, with more to develop beyond the first milestones.
Help choose a future Fav event
We’ve been talking about giving the community a bigger role in the experiences that bring people to Fav. This month, you’ll help decide what one of those events should be and how people qualify to take part.
Submissions are planned to open this Friday. Your idea can be in person, in the app, or a mix of both. Think about what you’d want to do together and what a fair way to participate would look like.
The plan is to allow two weeks for submissions, followed by voting during the final week of Community Month. You’ll be able to change your vote while voting is open, leaving room to discuss the ideas and hear each other out.
Start thinking about the event you’d want to be part of. We’ll share the form and full details when submissions open.
Spooky Season, 310 million bust points later
Spooky Season wrapped with 310 million bust points, more than double last year’s 125 million.
The community found over 2,000 amulets, roughly 1,000 more than last year, and 177 people reached the 500,000-point Bust Mastery milestone. The top busting total finished at an incredible 3.65 million.
The Fog Squad brought people into each other’s streams, and Ophelia gave everyone another way to join in and work toward an item. We’re taking your feedback on boss spawns, timing, and participation into the next round of events.
A few answers to questions about your rewards:
- Physical amulets go to the top 100 on the amulet leaderboard. Ties are decided by who reached the total first. The top three receive special versions.
- This year’s amulet item will be tradable when the marketplace launches. Most existing items are planned to be tradable, with an indicator for those that aren’t, such as your Summit.
Last Streamer Standing also closed out the season, hosted by 1el_chapoescobar. Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to everyone who brought the battles and costumes for Spooky Season’s final weekend.
Level 10 takes your custom gift app-wide
When a creator reaches Streamer Verification Level 10, their Level 9 custom gift becomes available to everyone, in every stream, while they’re live.
Each time that gift is sent in another stream, one random viewer in the Level 10 creator’s room receives 2% of the gift’s value in coins. The reward notification appears in the Level 10 creator’s stream.
It’s a way for the whole app to celebrate the milestone, with something extra for the people in that creator’s room. This reward is specifically for Level 10 streamers; the gifter reward will work differently.
Clipping is coming to your phone
Clipping recently opened to every creator at Streamer Verification Level 1 or above. Next up: using clip.fav.com from your phone.
We’re also exploring a way to open the clipping tools from inside the app. If you’ve been waiting because you don’t use a computer, get ready. Let anyone who helps clip your streams know, too.
Fav merch is on the way
We’re preparing the first Fav merch drop available to purchase, including a bucket hat and a preorder for a special character plushie. International shipping is planned.
Keep an eye out for the store link and full drop details.
More from the community Q&A
Box requests and chat fixes: The team is working on request-list timeouts and other issues raised during the stream. Keep reporting problems through in-app support so we can investigate.
Safer guest boxes: We’re developing more ways to address concerns about new box requests and help prevent bad actors from disrupting streams.
Driving mode: A dedicated mode is in development, with plans for moderator controls, text-to-speech, and voice commands. The goal is to remove the need to look at or interact with the screen while driving.
Military badge verification: The team is reviewing verification options for active-duty service members following questions about the current process.
More games: Battle power-ups are in development, and trivia is likely to be the first returning game. There are no confirmed release dates yet.
The Streamer Awards
Fav is sponsoring the Best Vertical Live Streamer award. We’re dropping a new ad during the show, which will push people to a special stream hosted by Zach that evening. The exact time is still to be confirmed.
Follow his account and turn on live notifications to join in and help welcome people discovering Fav.
