This week, we talked through our upcoming app rebuild, what’s next for subscriptions, and more of what’s coming for Spooky Season. With September wrapping up, we also checked in on Sub Season’s final days and the community events ahead.

Spooky Season is almost here

Spooky Season begins October 1, and ghostbusting is back.

If this is your first Spooky Season, here’s the idea: when someone sends a bustable spooky gift in a stream, a gift buster appears on your screen. Tap it to bust the ghost and earn points. Everyone in the stream can join in, so you don’t need to send a gift yourself to participate.

This year brings returning favorites, new faces, and more to discover together:

• Previous spooky gifts will be bustable again. Familiar faces are returning, and eligible gifts from last year will earn busting points again.
• Bust Mastery is coming. There will be more to work toward as you bust, with details about progression and the value of busting points still to come.
• Studio is joining in. Studio streamers and their communities will be able to participate in ghostbusting, including during gaming streams.
• October has more in store. Additional content and activities will arrive throughout the month. Some leaderboards will arrive later, too, giving the community more to explore as the season unfolds.

We’ll share more about how to play as launch approaches. The additions throughout October will bring extra things to do while keeping the announced rules consistent.

The amulet hunt returns

As you gift during Spooky Season, you’ll have a chance to discover this year’s amulet. You’ll have the month to hunt, with one amulet item per person for your collection.

Previous amulets will also come into play. Each will have different powers and effects, with the oldest amulet having the biggest effect. The details, and this year’s color, are still under wraps.

And the amulet won’t be the only thing to find. There are more hidden discoveries waiting this year.

For returning players wondering about choices they made during last year’s event: you’ll be able to participate fully this season regardless of what you chose.

Get ready to capture the moment

Finding an amulet is a moment worth keeping. This year, an automatic clip will capture that discovery, with more clipping features planned around the season.

If you have clipping access, take a look at clip.fav.com and get familiar with the tools before October. Now is also a good time to make sure your designated clippers are ready.

Our rebuilt app is rolling out soon

We’ve rebuilt Favorited from the ground up for both iOS and Android. That means smoother feed scrolling, improved audio and video, faster navigation, and a stronger foundation for the features ahead.

The goal is to move everyone onto the rebuilt app before October 1. You’ll need the updated version to participate in Spooky Season.

The rebuild will arrive as a normal app update. Your profile, followers, connections, verification level, and XP will carry over. You won’t need to delete the app or create a new account.

A few things to know about the rollout:

• Battles will be available at launch, including 90-second, three-minute, and five-minute modes. Other game modes will return over time with redesigns and improvements. Boxes and widgets will remain available.
• Verified streamers will be able to apply for up to one featured event per week through the partnerships team while self-scheduled events are being redesigned. We’ll share how to apply with the rollout.
• Leaderboards will continue to evolve, with plans for improved navigation and better visibility into all-time standings.

Sub Season’s final days

Sub Season ends Sunday, September 27 at reset. There’s still time to earn points, climb the event leaderboards, and work toward your milestones.

Subscriptions will continue after the event, and the sub star variants you’ve unlocked will remain. The end of Sub Season won’t change the existing subscription payout structure.

We’re also building more subscription benefits, customization options, and subscriber-only features over time. That includes something specifically for subscribers during Spooky Season. More on that soon.

• Royal Family 2v2 tournament: September 25–27. Hosted by rf_queen_boss_bitch and rf_king_medic.
• Graveyard Games: Begins October 8-10. Hosted by poet_family_networks.
• Avatar Legends Gaming Tournament: October 9–11. Hosted by queen_dragon & alphaghostflex. ****This is an officially supported gaming tournament with its own requirements, separate from the standard BFT format.
