This week, we went inside Haunted Mansion, celebrated nearly 200 million bust points, and explored the new fav.com. We also shared updates on picture-in-picture, clipping access, and how the community is shaping Fav’s next chapter.
Inside Haunted Mansion
Two teams. Three days of challenges, battles, scares, and surprises. Haunted Mansion is underway October 20–22, hosted by James Neese and Austin Widing. Watch on @hauntedmansion, with select cameras staying live overnight.
House challenges, daily 2v2 battles, and busting on Fav all contribute to the team and individual leaderboards. Catch the 2v2 battles from 6–7 PM PT and back your favorites as they work their way up the standings.
Favorited is supporting this creator-led event to help bring new audiences into the community. Its first day brought one of our biggest signup days of the past year, introducing more people to the creators and experiences on Fav.
Update your app to watch, and check the banner for the full schedule and event details.
Nearly 200 million bust points
Spooky Season has brought the community to nearly 200 million bust points, with more people reaching milestones and discovering this year’s collectibles.
As of this week’s stream:
- 645 people had found an amulet.
- Ophelia had appeared nearly 6,000 times.
- 778 people had completed at least 100 Ophelia busts.
- 72 people had reached the 500,000-point Bust Mastery milestone.
There’s more of the season to enjoy, including smaller surprises and more lore to uncover. Spooky Season runs through November 1 at reset.
A little help from the music box
Send Ophelia’s music box early so you and everyone who gifts after you count double toward her meter.
The community-led Fog Squad has been rallying people when fog appears to help summon her. We’re exploring ways to bring that teamwork into Fav and keep it going beyond Spooky Season.
A new look for fav.com
The updated fav.com puts the people and experiences on Fav front and center, with creator clips, information about earnings and verification, and a look at Spooky Season. We’ll continue cycling in more clips over time.
You can also send people directly to your profile using fav.com/yourusername.
You’ll see us using “Fav” more across the website and our branding. It’s the same Favorited, with a name the community already uses every day.
Picture-in-picture is here
Picture-in-picture is available in the latest app build. You can keep watching a livestream in a small window while using other apps on your phone.
The team is continuing to ship performance improvements and updates to the guest request experience. The latest Android build also supports streams beyond the previous 24-hour cutoff.
Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Clipping access is expanding
We’re preparing to lower the streamer verification requirement for clip.fav.com from Level 4. The goal is to give every verified streamer access to their full livestream recordings, with the final eligibility level and rollout timing still being worked out.
We’re also improving the clip site’s mobile experience so it’s easier to access and share moments from your streams.
Growing from the community outward
Fav is growing, with 75% more people using the app than last month.
As we prepare to leave beta, our broader marketing plans will center on the community already here: the people, personalities, and connections that make Fav worth coming back to.
Supporting creator-led events and spotlighting the people already here are both part of that work. Growth gives us more opportunities to invest in community experiences, and we want your ideas to help shape them.
A first visit can lead to another event, a new favorite streamer, or a community someone wants to join. Saying hello to new users, showing them how busting works, and inviting them into the conversation all help make those connections.
Community Month returns in November
Community Month will focus on the relationships between longtime members and people discovering Fav for the first time.
Streaks and welcoming new users will both play a role. We’re building ways to recognize the people who consistently show up and help others find their place in the community.
We also discussed a possible “hype squad” system to recognize people who share clips, promote events, and help introduce Fav to new audiences. The details are still being developed.
We’ll share more about Community Month next week. Preparations for Snowy Season are already underway, too.
Creator tournaments
The Creator World Championship, hosted by elvo_zsa, wrapped up last week. Congratulations to hardwarewlg on taking the world title and to all seven regional champions!
Next up: Last Streamer Standing, October 30–November 1. Hosted by 1el_chapoescobar, with a 1v1, first-to-three format. Check the Events Calendar in Discover for details.
Fav at The Streamer Awards
Favorited is sponsoring Best Vertical Live Streamer at The Streamer Awards in November.
Zach also plans to go live as part of the activation to welcome people discovering Fav. Follow his account and turn on live notifications to join when he goes live. More details on timing will follow.
Keep the ideas coming
We closed with community ideas for creator spotlights, sharing more clips, and helping new users discover the people already here.
Have an event or marketing idea? Send it to support@favorited.com, including what you’d like to create, how you’d introduce it to new audiences, and how people could get involved.
Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation and shared ideas for what comes next.
