A recap of this week's Wisdom Wednesday. Headline items: the new Studio app rolls out to everyone within about 24 hours, the Global Fav Cup has moved into the head to head knockout stage, and Zach is teasing the biggest rollout the app has seen, landing over the next 24 to 48 hours around VidCon.
Here's everything we could talk about.
Global Fav Cup
The group stage locked at reset on Sunday, and we're officially into the knockout rounds. Across the group stage, the community scored 775,000 total goals, led by USA (116K), Mexico (59K), and Brazil (31K). 16 countries are now out of the trophy race.
When a country gets knocked out, its leaderboards freeze and everyone sitting on those ranks is locked in. There's strategy both ways: push your country further, or lock your placement the moment it goes out. Here's what each rank earns:
- Top 100: the country ball
- Top 25: the GOAL
- Top 3 (podium): medals plus the Licking Lion. It's a variant, not a brand new item, and it does not carry a country flag.
Items unlock at the end of the event, not weekly, and they correlate to the gifts you can send.
How the rest of the bracket plays out:
- Knockouts run June 22 to July 12: countries go head to head each week until 4 remain.
- Finals run July 13 to 19: the last week is a free for all (1v1v1v1) between the 4 finalists.
- The top 100 streamers and gifters on the winning country's leaderboard earn the exclusive Global Fav Cup 2026 Trophy.
On the item issues from last round: we're aware some ranks and items were assigned late or incorrectly, and they're being corrected. If you're missing a ball, medal, or other item, check back later this week.
The My Goals view now shows where you stand at a glance. A community suggestion to tap a country and jump straight to its board got an immediate yes from the team, so look for that to come.
Studio
The new Studio app rolls out to everyone on Studio within about 24 hours (barring anything big coming up). If you're not on Studio yet, apply at favorited.com/studio.
Early notes from people already on it: overheating is vastly improved, and it's running the new audio and video.
Audio and video
The new audio and video stack is around 92 to 95% rolled out. The rest get moved over as everyone shifts to the new Studio, and we expect a hard cut next week. Once everyone's on the new Studio, we're at 100%.
Slow Chat
Slow Chat is coming this week. It's a streamer controlled setting (a "slow chat mode"), not a new default.
- When it's on, an individual viewer has to wait a set amount of time between messages. Options are 5, 10, or 30 seconds.
- It is not slowing the delivery of chat. It limits how often each person can send.
- Mods are included in the limit right now, though that will likely change so they're excluded.
- More time options can be added if 30 seconds isn't enough.
Recent Gifts
Recent Gifts pins your 4 most recently sent gifts to the top of the tray, and it works across tabs, so you can resend without scrolling all the way down every time. Especially handy for Fav Cup pushers.
Custom level 9 gifts
The first custom level 9 verification gift (Kevin Creekman's) went live last week, and a "making of" video is on the way. It's worth understanding why these take the work they do.
These gifts are not videos and not AI generated. What you see is a real 3D modeled, interactive environment. The character, the setting, the props, all of it exists as a 3D model you can actually interact with, and there's a lot more we'll be able to do with that down the line. AI shows up on the platform as a fun enhancement, not a replacement for this kind of craft.
Upcoming
🥊 Fav Rumble (this Saturday, June 27)
Austin Widing tournament, not a Favorited run event.
- 40 creators, free for all battle format, last one standing wins.
- Austin invited a mix of Favorited and TikTok creators, and some are brand new to the app. If you see new faces, welcome them.
Favorited is putting up a 5% prize pot, funded by 5% of all gifts sent during the matches and paid out based on the tournament's format.
🏆 Host your own Fav Creator Tournament
Creators can now apply for official Fav tournament status.
- Apply here: https://bit.ly/44m91db
- Requirements: at least 16 participants, runs 3 days or less, a clearly defined format, and a real marketing plan (on platform and on your other socials).
- Approved tournaments can turn on the prize pot widget during the event. Hit 10M and the widget converts into a prize pot (the same 5% mechanic).
- The organizer decides how the pot is distributed.
- If you don't hit the pot minimum, you can still award your own prizes. You just don't get the 5% from Favorited.
🎤 VidCon
Zach's panel on clipping is Friday, June 26, and he may also speak Thursday. The big platform news is expected to be fully out by the time he's on stage.
🤐 The biggest rollout yet
The biggest rollout most current users have ever seen is landing over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Zach is going live tomorrow to walk through everything. When the posts drop, the team is asking the community to share, like, and comment to help the announcements travel.
Looking back: Boston
Boston during the World Cup was a blast.
- Duck tours (the land and sea, spy looking vehicles) set up by Green Dragon, seeing the city from both the roads and the water.
- An F1 racing arcade experience, fast and surprisingly accurate.
- A birthday celebration for John.
- Bowling: Zach had the worst game of his adult life (he blames 75 Hard) and lost, while John crushed it.
There's a bowling rematch at VidCon on Friday, a Favorited bowling night co hosted with a friend in the creator world.
