A recap of this week's Wisdom Wednesday with Zach and Meggs. Headline items: the Global Fav Cup went out on a landslide, club365 kicks off tomorrow, and the native rebuild is in its final stretch.
Global Fav Cup: a send-off worth the hype
The Cup wrapped July 19, and the USA ran away with it.
- Final overall goals: USA 429,000, Haiti 157,000, and Morocco 123,000. Haiti was the real surprise of the tournament, finishing well past where anyone had them. And yes, 429,000 goals is more than you'll ever see in an actual World Cup.
- The trophy stole the show. The flaming gold reveal got real reactions live, capped with the winning country's custom flag and animation. Around 600 community members claimed it: the top 100 on each podium tier (gold, silver, bronze) across both the streamer and gifter leaderboards.
- The Licking Lion is a variant, not a standalone item, and reaching podium for a country unlocks it permanently. Consider it a preview of more gift variants to come.
The native rebuild
The big one people keep asking about. The full app rebuild is close, and it's the real fix for the performance issues, overheating included, that trace back to the current foundation as iOS and Android keep shifting underneath it.
Instead of patching one glitch at a time on a system we're leaving, the team is putting everything into landing the rebuild, where those problems get solved together. When it arrives, it unlocks the fun stuff: richer event mechanics, the new audio and video setup, filters, and a lot more range in what a live can do.
club365 starts July 23
The next club365 tournament kicks off Thursday, July 23 and runs through August 2.
- First up: the Division 1 opener at 1:45 PM Pacific / 4:45 PM Eastern, the first of 40 Round 1 battles across 300+ creators. Rounds are staggered by division.
- Brackets and the full schedule are already out to participants and posted in Discord, on Instagram, and in-app. Check the 365 tab on the Discover page for details, the schedule, and the daily breaks.
- Not everyone in 365 is in this tournament, and that's intentional. More tournaments are coming, and streak recognition is on the way so the 365 club gets acknowledged for everyone, not just tournament players.
Official Fav Tournaments
Huge congrats to 1el_chapoescobar, whose event (July 15–17) was the first to unlock the 5% prize pot. He and Ray Ray ran a genuinely great commentary stream alongside it, exactly the kind of creator-led moment we want to keep building around.
- Applications are open to everyone, via the form in the Discord announcements channel and here: https://bit.ly/44m91db.
- To qualify: 16+ participants, 3 days or less, a clear format, and a marketing plan. Cross 10M+ coins in total spend and the prize pot auto-unlocks at 5% of spend, plus medals for participants.
- A reward for hosts who run a tournament that hits the threshold is in discussion, and it would apply retroactively.
- Next up: the Lions Vault Kings Cup on July 28, run by Lions Vault Agency. Format: 2v2, 16 teams.
Thoughtful Thursday: the filters chat
July 23 at 3 PM, in a scheduled break in the 365 matchups (so it won't cut into play), we're opening the floor on filters. The throughline is the same thing everything here comes back to: real people connecting with real people. So the questions we want your take on are about honesty, mutual understanding, and where the lines should sit.
There's a poll and a Q&A forum in the Favorited Discord announcements section. Add your questions and votes now so we can get to them live.
Subscriptions and bonuses
- Group chats: you can share your livestream into your own sub chat today. Automatic early notification (so your subs are first in the door) and pinned messages in sub chats are on the way.
- Mod bonuses: the only issue is a display one in the preview. It's been showing an even split, but the amount actually paid is based on time spent modding, exactly as intended. A fix for the preview, plus real-time visibility, is in progress.
- Sunday bonus payouts are getting faster.
- Reminder: for streamer and sub bonuses, stream 1+ hour 5 days each week.
Algorithm
- Prestige boosts: when someone prestiges in your live, you get a temporary boost that scales with the level: modest for a bronze, bigger and longer-lasting the higher it climbs (at Celestial, it's a little ridiculous).
- Leveling up your streamer verification will boost you too, coming very soon. Level 9 will be one of the biggest and longest-lasting boosts there is.
- A UI marker that shows when something is boosting your algo lands in the next build.
- These numbers will be watched and tuned over time. The algorithm is growing from roughly 10 ranking factors to around 50, and they all stack.
Gaming medals
Weekly gaming medals are now going out. On top of that, we're going back to grant beta gaming medals for every podium finish from before the gaming leaderboard left beta.
The goal is to have those out this Friday, and this beta version will never be handed out again, so if you were grinding the gaming ranks early, that one is yours to keep.
Studio Web officially sunsetted
- Studio Web has been retired (last day was July 19). Everyone is on Studio Desktop now, with more improvements queued up.
- Web profiles are growing. Verified creators already have a personal link (fav.com/username) with a subscribe option, and there's more coming: extra features and pages, plus basic profiles for non-verified users so anyone can be found and shared. There's a dedicated web desktop team on it now, and it's a real step toward sharing your Favorited presence beyond the app.
Snipe the Summer returns
Snipe the Summer returns August 3 through August 30, with a new battle mode and a live launch on the 3rd.
We heard you
A quick round-up of what the community raised this week, and where it landed:
- "Let us see scores in 365 for people we've blocked." A fix is scoped for the tournament start. (It's hard to snipe what you can't see.)
- "Keep timers and chat visible when display is off, especially for box battles." On the radar heading into Snipe the Summer. Zach: on it.
- "Can we get the sub star as a gift in the goal widget?" Yes.
- The love for the World Cup event came through loud, along with real appreciation for the step forward on mod bonuses. Thank you for that.
- The small stuff got noticed too: the tiny chest icons and buffering on the Fav Cup rewards, and a couple of gifts landing in the main tray instead of the Fav Cup tray. The team is on both.
