General
Does Studio work on a Mac?
Yes, Studio is browser based so it works on any type of personal computer.
What browser should I use?
We recommend using Chrome.
How do I select a camera or audio source?
In the lower left panel, click on 'add input' or 'add source'.
Why are there no options to select any audio or video devices in my dropdowns?
There are two main reasons why no devices are shown:
- Your browser does not have permissions, click here for help.
- Another application has control over your devices.
- Close all other programs, open Studio and login. This will re-populate your sources and you can use the other programs.
How can I capture my (fill in blank)?
- Screen Capture
- Use the built-in Screen Capture function to capture a separate tab, window, or your whole display.
- Device Capture
- Use 'add device' to select your capture device (i.e. Elgato 4K X, etc.)
- OBS
- Use 'add device' to add your OBS Virtual Camera
How do I configure my OBS Virtual Camera?
You can use OBS by default to setup your scenes and simple click the 'Start Virtual Camera' button. When you add the device into Studio, you can resize and crop to appropriate resolution. You can also utilize the Aitum Vertical plugin if you are multi-streaming and need a separate canvas. The ideal aspect ratio for Studio is 9:16 or 720x1280.
How do I configure my audio?
Since Studio is browser based, we cannot directly import your desktop audio. We recommend using a virtual cable or even better, a virtual mixer. The product we recommend the most right now is Voicemeeter Banana for Windows based computers.
How do I get my audio from OBS?
Many streamers will route their audio through OBS. To get audio into Studio from OBS, you will want to set your OBS audio monitoring to your virtual cable or mixer and then add that as an input source into Studio.
Why do my viewers hear an echo when I am co-hosting/in boxes/battling?
This happens when audio is being sent from Studio back into Studio. Your co-host, guest, or opponent is transmitting their audio through your Studio browser. If Studio is set to output audio to the same virtual cable or mixer input that is also selected as an input source in Studio, it creates a feedback loop—causing an echo.
Why is my stream is blurry?
Blurry streams are typically caused by these reasons:
- CPU
- Check your CPU utilization using the Task Manager to see what is causing the load
- Lower your graphics quality in game to ease the pressure (remember, your streaming at 720x1280 so it is best to optimize for that resolution)
- Bandwidth
- Make sure you are hard wired (i.e. ethernet) to your router. Wi-Fi can be unstable, especially if you are far away from your router.
- Verify no other devices on your network or computer are taking resources.
- Sometimes there are upstream issues with your internet provider which we have no control over.
- Anti-Virus
- It has been reported that different anti-virus programs can slow down your games and/or the browser you are using. Make sure you add an exception for your games and browser.
